Shopping and Buffy

Just another post-trip blog post from my days in LA.

What can I say? Los Angeles delivered! Stunning weather and all I had planned this day was to go shopping at my favourite location in LA, Paper Moon Vintage. They are the sweetest staff with the best garments you can imagine! I always find too much when I go there. What a terrible ordeal. 🙂

Again, woke up with sunshine and blue sky. My hair, as normally, survives a few days with brushing and redoing if I take care of it during sleeping. I had forgotten a hair wrap, but I did a makeshift one and great success!

Once again I did my makeup in bed, as I can stay wrapped up in bed longer that way.. I didn’t want to sleep in, so that seemed like the best option.

On my way to the Lyft I had ordered. Take it away, Ernie! (Harry Potter reference, I hope you got it… )

Paper Moon Vintage have their own beautiful paper moon. Last time I was here I did get my picture taken on it, but instead I did a dressing room selfie in my undies.  Why not, it was a good day! I tried on all the outfits I could find that I hoped would fit and they brought me a few extra fun stuff I hadn’t been able to find on my own. I walked out with two Huge Bags(tm). I am almost shockedthat I didn’t take a mirror selfie of my outfit. Green velvet true vintage dress I bought in London the previous weekend.

I did walk up the street hoping to find the Miss L Fire store, but they had closed down permanently in LA or at least it looked like it as the building had no floors anymore!
I found a few other vintage shops along my route and just had too much to carry from PM Vintage to buy or try anything else on.

Lyft back, so I could get ready for a fun night out. Weather still AMAZING. Don’t think I can describe how much I needed this sunlight!
I had a little nap, you can see from the IG story I posted WHILE NAPPING. As I stayed up way too long drinking wine, I really needed that five second nap.

Got back to the house, had a little rest and nap before I changed and got ready for pre party drinks at Musso and Frank’s with my friend Jenni. We did indeed get the best Gin Martini every made, also some great appetisers.

We then walked up to Loews Hotel in order to join the Buffy Fan Party, 20th anniversary for their first fan event. We walked to the wrong place inside the hotel first, but I didn’t mind. I now know where the pool at Loews is, in case of emergency.
Great fun, and even a cut out Sarah Michelle Gellar.

My outfit for the night, the amazing Temptress dress by The Pretty Dress Company. Took a selfie at the restroom because why not!

My Norwegian LA friend Carina joined the party after finishing at work, and we had to do some selfies and pictures with Buffy.

We asked a random guy to take our picture and he went for it. I hoped for like one or two pictures, but we got 10 before we got too awkward and made him stop. I didn’t feel like editing out the red eyes we got, as it just ended up perfect like demon eyes at the Buffy party. She is not this tall in real life, so we were dissapointed by the scale of the cardboard figurine!

We had big plans for the night and was going to a burlesque show to see some of the great burlesque dancers we follow on IG, but the venue we hoped for had closed for a private party. We ended up going where everyone else went, it seemed. We hardly stood in the longe queue at No Vacancy. Will definitely go back on a week day next time! It was incredibly crowded. We got one drink and selfie in before we left to another bar and then home to sleep!  Blurry, tipsy, grainy selfie below.

Next time in LA, more fancy outings and fun times at bars and clubs!

Yours,

Georgie
