Shopping and hats

How could this day start any better? Not only did I get to wake up early to birds chirping but also the sunrays were beaming into my room. I felt like I was in heaven! I must admit at this point, just the sunlight was enough to make my day!

I had a little peak outside, started getting ready for first – shopping in Burbank; second – photo shoot with hats by Polished Raven  in Pasadena.

Getting ready was sooo chill that morning. Carina would come pick me up before our little shopping adventure. So I could just take my time and not worry about ordering my Lyft on time or anything.

Brought with my the best travel converter, which is fuse proof, making sure I could curI my hair without ruining my turning iron or blowing a fuse in the house. I then sat in bed applying my makeup using my little new travel jewellery case with the sunshine beaming at me. Quick brush out, realising I did NOT pack my travel hairspray and would need to go without. CRISIS. Praying to something so it would not collapse. The hair gods did answer and it worked out just fine!

This is all the shopping I could get done in a few hours in Burbank.

First stop: SkirtChaser – lovely pieces. Found something I have at home in a different colour, very fun! (No picture)
Second stop: Playclothes – aaaamazing store. Found too many things and got overwhelmed and couldn’t buy anything.

Third stop: The Holding store. Found two good dresses that came home with me at a bargain. (No picture)
Fourth stop: Slone Vintage. Found some good lingerie and a slip + this delicious 40s blue striped lounge dress.
Fifth stop: Junk for Joy. A lot of fun, nothing jumped at me but there was some serious good stuff in there. Wish I could have spent longer. But time flies! (No pictures)

I had to call quits on shopping in time to make it to Pasadena in time to meet Ruby for my shoot.

I dragged my goodies and my outfits with me and in a Lyft I went! My hair for some reason did just fine for the hours I went shopping. It must be the magic sunlight or something. But I had to grab some before my photo shoot for sure! My Lyft stopped me right outside a Sephora. My kind of luck! Lipsticks and hairspray! (Seriously, if you haven’t tried Sephoras Liquid Lipstick (looong lasting) you are missing out! I mean it!)

We started shooting in my outfit for the day, a vintage shirt and a blouse from The Seamstress of Bloomsbury, you have seen that in the mirror selfie up top!
Then we swooned over my recently purchased Lounge Dress from Slone Vintage and did an outfit with that too! These are just a few “Behind the scenes” photos!

Next up was my Vintage dress we actually did plan to shoot in. The two first was just luck and fun! I bought this in Norway last year before Viva Las Vegas, and you can see it featured in my Post Viva-post and also in my shoot with Shannon Brooke!

Then I changed into my planned blue outfit and this is an amazing dress from Zoe Vine I got at Garment. It’s the Billie model, in doe gray. Which I think might be my newest favourite colour!

Ruby was kind enough to hang out for a while, as I was doing to dinner a few hours later in the same area. We headed into Sephora again, but wandered into a lot of different places.

We of course stopped by Kate Spade and this pretty little fellow almost came home with me. So did a lot of other things, since they make all the pretty things.

Went for dinner in lovely Old Town, Pasadena. Which I didn’t realise until I walked around the block turned out to be where we started our photo shoot!
I apparently crashed a birthday party, which was for my friends friend, but they didn’t seem to mind the intruding Norwegian in their midst.
Sage Plante Based Bistro means business! I ate the best food I have ever eaten, probably. And by all means, I would go vegan if I had access to vegetables (and knew how to cook) like this! I dream of this food now.

And then a few hours of wine and being able to sit outside at night in February! Come on! Like a Norwegian needs any more excuses to love LA.

P.S. The best with outside shoots it that you start the day in one outfit and finish your day in a totally different outfit. Who doesn’t love that?

Yours,

Georgie
