    London Edge

This is a little late in the writing, but I thought I would dot down a few words about our purchasing trip to London Edge early in February. It was a trip with my business partner Torunn in our newly started clothing store Garment.no.

London Edge is a trade show in alternative fashion, so not really high street looks if you get my drift. Garment.no is a store for vintage inspired day and evening wear, and fits in really well at London Edge. We got to see brands we had already purchased from and also brand new brands to us, that we fell totally in love with and had to order with straight away. And a ton of inspiration to new ideas for our store.

First of all, I couldn’t leave from home that morning due to public transport and check-in times. So I stayed the night at our office having a movie marathon with Hunger Games and popcorn and slept a few hours before getting up to make really bad victory rolls. So this is Friday – one of my best vintage hats. That of course wouldn’t fit over my victory roll, so the rest of the trip it remained unused.

Ungodly early to be on the airport express. Big, fluffy and kinda flimsy victory rolls. Airplane and different Instagram stories. It was a really good flight as I slept all the way from Oslo to London.

Finally in “London”. Gatwick Express train. Rainy weather. Did not really lighten my mood, but sure made my victory rolls droop even more.

Found my way to the hotell without much fuzz, just fuzzy hair. And at this point they started to just droop down my face. I did re-pin them on a moving buss later. Without much success I will add.

I left my hotel to find prime shopping spots in London and stopped by Revival Retro. I only did window shopping, but this is always a must when in London. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful and a great little chat! I walked on to Blackout II – they sell amazing vintage and I must admit I didn’t only do window shopping there.. #sorrynotsorry

After my little shopping trip, I went back to the hotel for some food (and wine). I was super cold due to the wind and rain at this point and needed some fuel to keep going. I caved in and had a super warm bath before I had to leave the hotel. I needed some snacks, so my victory rolls disappeared. This is almost a tale about my victory rolls at this point.

So – Torunn finally arrived and it was basically bedtime to get up early for London Edge.
The sun was out the next morning to our great relief.

We got up, ready and set out for London Edge! We had been here a few years before at a different trade show, but not with Garment.no in mind. We walked around gazing at all the great exhibitors and their clothes, shoes and accessories. I even found some matching shoes!

I was wearing my Clarice dress from Garment.no, by Seamstress of Bloomsbury, a wonderful reproduction clothing company with great 40s inspired clothes. Just the most amazing quality in their craftsmanship with patterns, quality fabrics and of course their wonderful garment production.

A little fashion show with incredible hair styling and great outfits, SEVERAL times a day! Great fun! Good to see the clothes on people as well, and not only on display.  After a good few hours we headed for some food and a little quick rest before the London Edge party!

A little wardrobe change into a vintage item I had snagged up the day before at Blackout II. I also put on my best cape and gloves.

Day two of London Edge! In Zoe Vine, another brand we have at Garment.no. Incredibly comfortable, great fitting and curve hugging dresses. Just want all of them and all the colours!  The day started with impeccable sunshine, almost too much for pale Norwegians. Didn’t know how to cope with all this, so funny face!

Found even more matching shoes, of course from the wonderful brand Lola Ramona. A big swan for my little swan bag, a beautiful cape from El Costurero Real and a fell in love with this bunny mask from Maskadelic!

So, after this there was just heading through traffic through London to get on the Gatwick Express and some “sightseeing” from our taxi.

Airport toilet selfie, a few mor bags of carry on luggage and a selfie on the train when aaalmost home!

So that was my three day trip to London.

    Yours,

    Georgie
