Pre Viva Las Vegas

It is finally time for me to write about my trip to Viva Las Vegas in it’s entirety. These posts will contain a lot of selfies, so consider yourself warned already.

I purchased my tickets for Viva Las Vegas early on in August 2016, after following their Instagram, FB and newsletter for few months to get a good feel for what the long weekend at The Orleans would and could contain.

The months before Viva Las Vegas, I booked a few photoshoots and discovered other things I would like to do in Las Vegas while I was there, and I ended up booking a week long trip.

After spending a few months on planning, buying and sorting out my outfits for both photoshoots and attending Viva itself, I was ready to start the actual packing. It took me a few days to get it all sorted and fit into my suitcases, but I finally had my suitcases packed and I was ready to go! The picture above is just a preselection and not all of these dresses made it into my suitcases, but most of them did, a long with a lot of shoes, handbags and jewellery.

Day 1 – Tuesday

Must admit that I love feeling stylish when I travel, so tracksuit will never be an option. I went for earrings from Mirobel, a top from Collectif Clothing, skirt from Ootd and Loretta shoes from Miss L Fire. I had set my hair the night before in dry pin curls and brushed it out to a kinda hairdo. I also had my Swan motif handbag from Kate Spade with me, which might be my most favourite designer brand of all times.

I love flying with SAS, so this time was no exception. My route was Oslo – Copenhagen, Copenhagen – Chicago, Chicago – Las Vegas. Took me long enough, and of course the flight in from Copenhagen got delayed by 30 minutes and I just missed my connection to Las Vegas and had to spend the night in Chicago. Got in really late, so I did not actually get to see anything of Chicago from the airplane.

Day 2 – Wednesday

Early morning flight from Chicago, and after finally arriving in Las Vegas and checking into my hotel room I met up with a Elisa, a friend from LA. We went out Vintage shopping for hours. Looking at all the antique and vintage shops down S Main Street and Charleston Antique Mall.

Found a few nice handbags and dresses, and really wanted a clear lucite handbag. Charleston is a great place if you are looking for vintage jewellery and smaller items, but they have some good pieces of clothing too. Their speciality is more towards interior and furniture from my perspective.

My outfit of the day was a bright orange sun dress from Jasper Conran for Debenhams, vintage belt and multi coloured shoes from Lola Ramona. Went out for a walk later at night, after getting my wristband for Viva sorted out and this is the view from the hotel I stayed at, The Tropicana. My hair was a brush out of my previous set, which was basically just a more 60s hair flick.

Viva Las Vegas

You can read more about my days at Viva Las Vegas in my next blogpost. I will warn you already, I did not go to Viva for the music. I enjoy the music, don’t get me wrong! But I looooove them vintage clothes.
